In a press release earlier today, Fuji Dream Airlines (FDA) announced that it intends to launch flights between Shizuoka and Izumo in Shimane Prefecture, as well as between Sendai in Miyagi Prefecture and Izumo.
While the details of the flights are not known yet – and the airline is still getting the necessary regulatory approvals – FDA plans to operate both of the routes once a day starting sometime during the 2018 summer schedule.
These routes will not be the first time for FDA to operate in and out of Izumo, since the airline already operates there out of its main hub – Nagoya Komaki. However, it will be the first time for FDA to offer flights to Sendai.
As for Izumo airport, Fuji Dream Airlines will be the first to connect it with Shizuoka as well as Sendai.
