Thai AirAsia X will restart flights between Bangkok Don Muang and Sapporo New Chitose on April 11, 2018, the airline announced earlier today.
XJ620/XJ621: Bangkok Don Muang – Sapporo and Back
The flights connecting Thailand’s capital with the largest city in Hokkaido will be operated using Thai AirAsia X’s A330-300 aircraft. The first of the flights from Bangkok to Sapporo will operate on April 11, 2018, with the first Sapporo to Bangkok flight following on April 12, 2018.
From then on, the flights will operate daily with the following schedule:
- XJ620 from Bangkok DMK to Sapporo CTS: depart at 11:55PM, arrive at 8:40AM the next day
- XJ621 from Sapporo CTS to Bangkok DMK: depart at 9:55AM, arrive at 3:10PM
An Almost Brand New Route
Thai AirAsia X operated the same route before, however, the first time the airline connected the two cities was very short lived. The route which was operated daily at the time as well lasted for only three months (May 1, 2015 – end of July 2015).
Currently, Thai AirAsia X connects Bangkok with two other Japanese cities – Tokyo and Osaka – as well. Both of the routes are operated twice daily. Besides Thai AirAsia X, the Malaysia-based AirAsia X also connects Kuala Lumpur with several Japanese destinations including Sapporo.
And, while Thai Airways already connects Bangkok with Sapporo, it is great to see Thai AirAsia X coming with a low-cost alternative for travel between the two cities.
Hopefully, the route will stay around for longer this time!
